Solar power was introduced onto the LBR in 1996, with a photovoltaic array capable of producing 24V/7 kW, paired with 12 kW generators, a 4800 amp hour battery bank and 8 kW inverters. In 2005, the array was doubled, as well as the battery bank. In 2014, the solar system was updated to its current configuration, which is capable of producing 44 kW. (capacity of toyota battery bank?)
