Solar

The photovoltaic array at Lamar Buffalo Ranch was originally installed in 1996 and could produce 7 kW of power. In 2005 the array was doubled to produce 14 kW and in 2014 the array was increased again with a total of 176 solar panels and can produce up to 45 kW of power.

All power produced by the PV array is in DC (direct current) and converted to AC (alternating current) in the generator shed to be used in the other buildings at the ranch.

The photovoltaic array was the first renewable energy installed in Lamar Buffalo Ranch.
