Bathhouse
The bathhouse at Lamar Buffalo Ranch was built in 1993 to accommodate the Yellowstone Institute program participants. Originally the ranch only contained a vault toilet system which the bathhouse replaced for both convenience and efficiency.
Providing shower and laundry services for both students and staff, the bathhouse uses more water than any other building on the ranch. On the roof is a solar thermal system to supplement the hot water supply, reducing energy use on site. The bathhouse also has a radiant floor system and an educational display for visitors that explains the system and how to reduce environmental impact.
