The following documents must be submitted to the School of Architecture by the appropriate published deadlines:
Graduate Application for Admission as required by the Graduate School. Application can be found at MSU Graduate School website.
A $60.00 non-refundable application fee payable to Montana State University. This fee will be paid online as part of the online application process.
Official undergraduate transcripts from all universities attended. Un-official transcripts can be uploaded by the student during this online process, however, MSU must receive official transcripts directly from the university(s) attended. Please have them sent electronically to rortego@montana.edu or via mail to Graduate Admission Committee, 160 Cheever Hall, Bozeman, MT 59717 (Applicants who have a bachelor's degree conferred from Montana State University do not need to submit their transcripts).
Portfolio of architectural work sufficient to demonstrate the student’s ability and achievement in architecture. Portfolio form and page length is at the discretion of the student, though the portfolio must be suitable for review by a committee. All applicants must submit an electonic portfolio as part of the online application process. The portfolio should not be larger than a 10MB PDF which will be uploaded to the online application.
Three professional references- During the online process, applicants will be asked to provide information about their references. The electonic process will prompt each reference to submit a signed reference letter electronically. NO Paper Letters of Recommendation are to be submitted. At least 2 of recommendation letters must come from faculty. 1 letter can be from an employer in the Architecture field.
Graduate Record Examination general test official results. Scores should be sent to Montana State University (CODE 4488).
